Mission Men's Basketball Poised for Breakout Season Under Meinders
Mission University Men's Basketball enters the 2025–26 season with determination and depth, ready to make noise in the American Midwest Conference under Head Coach Dallas Meinders. After building steady momentum last year, the Patriots return a seasoned lineup and a focused mindset as they look to climb the AMC standings and contend with the league's best.
Coaching Staff and Leadership
Coach Meinders, known for his disciplined approach and player development focus, leads the program into a season defined by high expectations and a fourth-place ranking in the AMC Preseason Poll. Alongside Meinders are assistants Raul Nunez, Elijah Smith and
Tyler Robertson, who both bring energy and experience to a staff that has emphasized defensive intensity, team chemistry, and pace of play heading into the new campaign.
Key Returners and Roster Depth
Mission's roster combines veteran leadership with emerging young talent across all positions. Senior leaders
Lawson Beem,
Clifford Barrow,
Ty O'Neal, and
Justin Wormell headline an experienced core that sets the tone on both ends of the floor. Barrow's sharpshooting ability from behind the arc, O'Neal's inside versatility, and Wormell's steady backcourt play provide the Patriots with an experienced foundation.
Junior
Justin Gill transferred in this year and is one of Mission's most reliable scorers, showing his offensive ability in the season opener at Mid-America Nazarene.
Najee Williams is another addition to this Patriot lineup, providing a well-rounded skillset on the court. Upperclassman
Jordyn Turner adds size and athleticism on the perimeter, while sophomore contributors
Sterling Vinson,
Judd Thoma, and
Sammy Ishimwe bring skill and versatility to a well-rounded rotation. Newcomers such as freshman guard
Taco Biggs and junior forward
Marcell Perry add depth and energy off the bench.
Preseason Outlook
Ranked fourth in the AMC Preseason Poll, Mission has earned growing respect across the conference and now looks to convert that recognition into results. The Patriots opened the season on the road at MidAmerica Nazarene University and will head west to compete in the MacArthur Trust Classic in Santa Clarita, California, facing Stanton University on October 31 and The Master's University on November 1.
Season Schedule Highlights
Mission's 2025–26 slate features a mix of regional rivals and national challenges. After their California trip, the Patriots will compete in the Bellevue Classic, taking on Dickinson State and host Bellevue University. Conference play begins December 15 at the University of Health Sciences & Pharmacy in St. Louis, with the home AMC opener set for January 6 against Central Baptist College at W.E. Dowell Fieldhouse. Key matchups with Columbia College, Williams Baptist, Crowley's Ridge, and Harris-Stowe will test the team's consistency throughout the winter.
New Court
Mission looks to debut a new court this year, giving the games a fresh new look. Center court is branded with the traditional Mission University "M" and the north sideline is labeled the "Northside", paying homage to their location in Springfield. The court also received a new name this year, honoring long time Men's Basketball Coach, Hilly Beck. It is now called Hilly Beck Court at W.E. Dowell Fieldhouse.
Looking Ahead
With proven leadership, a balanced lineup, and a strong preseason ranking, the Patriots are ready to take the next step in their conference journey. Mission University Men's Basketball enters the 2025–26 season prepared, confident, and eager to compete for a place among the AMC's elite.
