Springfield, Missouri- Mission University traveled to CBC Thursday to play the first round of the AMC conference championship. The Mustangs got off to a great start going on a 8-3 run to start the game. The Mustangs would have the Patriots number early taking a 13-point lead about halfway through the first half. Eli'jah Smith and MU would respond going on a 9-3 run. The Mustangs would find themselves up 12 at halftime despite an impressive 1st half performance from Eli'jah Smith having 7 points, 9 rebounds, and a block in the first half alone. 

Mission University's Lawson Beem would start to pound the ball inside getting back-to-back layups early in the 2nd half trying to cut the lead to single digits. The Patriots 6-0 run all in the paint would force a timeout by the mustangs. The Mustangs would get hot behind the 3-point line and build the lead back up. MU would not go away, cutting the lead to 7 with 2:30 left in the game. Effort would be too little too late as the Patriots fall.
