BARTONVILLE, Ark. — Mission University men's golf turned in a strong showing at the 2026 American Midwest Conference Men's Golf Championship, finishing third as a team while Franco Safe earned individual runner-up honors to lead the Patriots.
Mission posted team rounds of 307-308-303 for a 54-hole total of 918, finishing just four strokes behind team champion Columbia (911) and four behind runner-up Williams Baptist (914). The Patriots' 303 in the final round was their best round of the tournament and helped Mission close the event with momentum.
Safe delivered one of the top performances in the field, carding rounds of 70-74-70 to finish at 214 (-2), good for second place individually. He was the only player in the tournament to finish under par and recorded two rounds of 70 or better.
Mission placed multiple golfers inside the team scoring mix throughout the three-round event.
- Luke Heavin finished with rounds of 82-77-75 (234). After opening with an 82, he responded with back-to-back improved rounds, including a 75 in the final round.
- Landon Luna posted rounds of 77-80-78 (235).
- Zane Malone carded 83-83-80 (246), highlighted by his best round coming in the tournament finale.
- Colby Noblitt contributed rounds of 78-77 through two rounds before withdrawing during the final round.
Mission's final-round push helped secure third place, finishing ahead of Hannibal-LaGrange (927) and Central Baptist (929).
In addition to the team's finish, Colby Noblitt represented Mission as a 2026 AMC Champions of Character honoree.
With the conference tournament complete, the Patriots close the championship season with a team podium finish and one of the top individual performances in program conference championship history.
