The Mission University men's golf team opened its 2025–26 season this week at the Mid-South Invitational, hosted by Grand View University at Sand Creek Station. The event doubled as the NCCAA Regional Tournament, and the Patriots claimed a second-place finish among the four NCCAA programs in the field.

As a team, Mission carded rounds of 348 (+48), 327 (+27), and 320 (+20) to close with a three-round score of 995 (+95). The Patriots placed 16th overall in the NAIA field while finishing ahead of Central Christian and Arlington Baptist in the NCCAA Regional standings.

Individually, the Patriots were led by Landon Luna and Colby Noblitt, who both displayed consistency across the three rounds. Luna posted scores of 83-77-73 to finish at 233 (+17), while Noblitt matched him with rounds of 83-74-77 for 234 (+18).

Luke Heavin battled through an up-and-down week but still contributed key scores with rounds of 82-82-90 for 254 (+38). Tyson Young showed improvement across his three days, finishing with scores of 91-82-81 to card 254 (+38). Zane Malone rounded out the lineup, recording 88-93-77 for a total of 258 (+42).

The Patriots' steady third-round performance, highlighted by Luna's +1 round of 73, helped secure the program's second-place finish at the regional level.

Mission will return to the course later this month looking to build on its season-opening results and continue preparing for the NCCAA National Championship in the fall.
