Top Individual Performances
Zane Malone (6th place, E overall)
Malone delivered Mission's top finish, carding a 73 (+2) in Round 1 before storming back with a 67 (-3) in Round 2. His second-round effort featured a hot front nine with birdies at holes 1, 2, and 4, pacing him to one of the lowest rounds in the field. Malone's steady ball striking and composure allowed him to climb the leaderboard and secure a top-10 finish at even par.
Landon Luna (T-8th, +2 overall)
Luna set the tone early with an outstanding 68 (-2) in Round 1, highlighted by five birdies on the front nine, including a stretch of three birdies in five holes. In Round 2, Luna battled through tougher conditions, finishing with a 74 (+4) to close at +2 overall. His opening round showcased his ability to go low, marking him as a consistent threat for the Patriots this season.
Colby Noblitt (T-12th, +5 overall)
Noblitt provided another steady performance for Mission, starting strong with a 69 (-1) in Round 1. His back nine included a birdie at the par-5 18th to close under par. Round 2 proved more challenging as he posted a 76 (+6), but his two-day total of +5 still kept him inside the top 15. Noblitt's first-round poise and ability to recover from mistakes give Mission added stability in the lineup.
Looking Ahead
Mission University's early showing at Evangel highlighted both depth and upside. With Malone, Luna, and Noblitt each proving they can compete near the top of the leaderboard, the Patriots have a strong foundation to build on as the season unfolds.
The Patriots return to action next month as they continue their fall schedule, seeking to build momentum and sharpen their play heading toward conference competition.
