2025 Mission University Volleyball – Season Recap

The Mission University Patriots concluded their 2025 campaign with a 15–19 overall record and an 11–7 mark in American Midwest Conference play, earning a postseason berth and showcasing meaningful growth across a long, challenging schedule.

Strong Conference Play & Key Midseason Momentum

Mission battled through one of the toughest non-conference slates in recent program history before hitting stride in AMC action. The Patriots delivered three conference sweeps, recorded back-to-back 3–0 wins twice, and picked up critical home victories over Harris–Stowe, UHSP, and Crowley's Ridge. Their 11 conference wins marked one of the highest totals for the program in recent years.

Mission's competitive consistency showed through numbers as well—hitting at .102 as a team, nearly identical to their opponents across 120 sets of play, and finishing +31 in total kills compared to opponents.

Statistical Standouts & Team Identity

The Patriots leaned on depth, defensive effort, and balanced attacking throughout the season.

  • Shelby Evans led the team with 292 kills, earning the role of go-to hitter during AMC play.

  • Allie Czachowski added 277 kills and provided major impact at the net with 79.0 total blocks, the second-highest mark on the roster.

  • Sarah Purcell, the team's senior middle, closed her career with 205 kills while also ranking second in blocks (55.0).

  • Defensively, Rylea King led the team with an impressive 404 digs, while Hannah Maxwell added 333 digs and a team-best 955 assists, guiding the offense as Mission's primary setter.

  • Karsyn Ryan delivered a strong all-around freshman season with 261 digs87 assists, and efficient serve-receive numbers.

At the service line, Mission totaled 209 aces, led by Maxwell (49), Czachowski (43), and Ryan (29), helping the Patriots control tempo in numerous matches.

Growth Through Adversity

The Patriots endured a demanding early-season road stretch and a series of nationally competitive opponents, including Mid-America Christian, Evangel, Texas A&M–Texarkana, and College of the Ozarks. Despite the challenges, Mission showed resilience, securing five wins in the last eight conference matchups and earning a spot in the AMC Quad-Match and AMC Tournament.

Mission finished the regular season with strong defensive momentum as well—posting 1,938 digs (over 16 per set), a testament to the team's effort, communication, and discipline.

A Young Core Moving Forward

With significant contributions from underclassmen—including Ryan, Bach, Irvin, Moreland, and Wheeler—the Patriots carried one of the youngest rosters in the conference. The combination of experienced contributors and emerging talent positions Mission well heading into the 2026 campaign.

Mission also benefited from steady leadership from senior Sarah Purcell, who anchored the middle both offensively and defensively throughout her final season.

Closing the Chapter

The Patriots' 2025 season was defined by growth, depth, and competitive consistency. With a strong core returning and key statistical leaders gaining another year of experience, Mission University Volleyball enters the offseason with momentum and a clear foundation to build upon.
