Springfield, MO — Mission University is proud to announce the appointment of
Darin Meinders as the new Head Coach of its Women's Basketball program. A familiar and respected leader within the university community, Meinders brings an extraordinary legacy of success and leadership to the sidelines. Meinders, who has served as Mission University's Athletic Director for the past six years, played a pivotal role in revitalizing the athletic department. Under his guidance, the department experienced significant growth in student-athlete development, program competitiveness, and overall athletic excellence.
With an illustrious coaching career spanning decades, Meinders boasts a remarkable 628 career wins and a 72% career winning percentage. His record of success includes multiple state and national championships, and he is a proud inductee of the Missouri Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame.
Alongside Coach Meinders, Mission University also welcomes back his son, Dawson Meinders, as the program's new Head Assistant Coach. A former standout guard for Mission, Dawson helped lead the program to an ACCA National Championship before transitioning into coaching. He has already been part of one national title run on the sidelines and now reunites with his father to help guide the women's team. Together, the Meinders duo brings a unique blend of experience, passion, and family legacy to the program's next chapter.
