Mission University men's soccer suffered a 5–0 defeat at Williams Baptist University on Tuesday afternoon in American Midwest Conference play at WBU Soccer Field. The Eagles jumped out to an early lead and maintained control throughout the match, leaving the Patriots unable to respond.
How It Happened
Williams Baptist struck quickly, scoring three goals in the opening 11 minutes. Henrico Zena opened the scoring unassisted in the 3rd minute, followed by a penalty kick from Drew Jerrett in the 5th minute, and Hugo Farrona adding another in the 11th. Bruno Silveira extended the lead to 4–0 in the 29th minute, also unassisted. The Eagles capped the scoring in the 68th minute when Alvaro Moran converted a feed from Jhevan Smith.
Mission had limited offensive opportunities despite several substitutions in the second half, including shots from 
Austin Miller, 
Andrey Smolin, and 
Kauan Amaro. Goalkeeper 
Jordon Shaw made 13 saves, keeping the deficit from increasing further, while John Smith recorded two saves for the shutout. Mission managed six shots with two on goal, compared to Williams Baptist's 33 shots with 18 on target.
