The Mission University Men's Soccer team finished the regular season strong on Saturday afternoon, earning a 3–1 win over Kansas Christian College at Lake Country Soccer to secure the No. 6 seed in the upcoming AMC Conference Tournament.
After a scoreless first half, the Patriots exploded offensively in the final 45 minutes, netting three goals behind a dominant attack that outshot Kansas Christian 23–7 for the match.
Second-Half Surge
Austin Miller put Mission on the board in the 57th minute with an assisted strike fom Andrey, then doubled the lead just five minutes later off an assist from Daniel Williams. The Patriots continued to press forward, and Matthew Santamaria added a third goal in the 80th minute, assisted again by Miller, to seal the victory.
Kansas Christian got on the board late, scoring in the 88th minute, but Mission's back line and goalkeeper Jordon Shaw closed things out to secure the win.
Team Performance
The Patriots controlled possession throughout, producing 23 total shots (14 on goal) while limiting Kansas Christian to just seven attempts and two on frame. Mission also earned four corner kicks and forced Kansas Christian's keeper to make 11 saves.
With the win, Mission wraps up regular-season play on a high note and builds momentum heading into the postseason. The Patriots will now turn their attention to the AMC Conference Tournament, where they'll open play next week as the No. 6 seed.
