In the first set, both squads played even through eight points before the Stephens College Stars took a small three to four point lead, eventually making it 11-7, midway through the set. The Lady Patriots then scored six consecutive points to take a 13-11 lead. The Stars tied it at 14-14, but then the Lady Pats took a small lead back, 19-17. Momentum shifted at that point in favor of Stephens College as they scored eight of the next nine points to claim a first set 25-20 victory. Three Lady Patriots,

Abbi Street, and
Ryleigh Fowler, recorded 3 Kills apiece in set 1. Set 2 was a test of mental fortitude for Mission University as nothing seemed to go their way. The Stars took and early 5-0 lead, and never looked back, pushing the margin to nine points halfway through the second set, 16-7 and 18-9, before finishing off the set with a 25-13 win.
Maddie Rue paced the attack in the second set with 3 Kills. The Lady Patriots needed to dig deep after that showing and they did play much better in the final set, however, they still fell 25-17 to be swept in the match, 3-0. Once again, three Mission Patriots,
Ella Sims, Kenney, and Rue, knocked down 3 Kills each in set 3.
Upcoming action:
The Volley Patriots return to action Saturday, November 9, to play host to the Columbia College Lady Cougars in the W.E. Dowell Fieldhouse. The match is scheduled for a 1 pm start.
