In the opening set, both squads stood toe-to-toe resulting in seven ties, the last being 18-18.  A 7-3 run at the end of the set by the Central Baptist College Lady Mustangs proved to be the difference for a 25-21 win for CBC.  The Mission University Lady Patriots had a nice rally turn a four point deficit, 16-12, into a two point lead, 18-16, midway through the set, but could not keep the momentum going.  Summer Kenney had 5 Kills to lead MU.  In the second set, the Lady Patriots worked out to an 11-4 lead, then pushed it to as many as 11 on three occasions before the Lady Mustangs came storming back.  Leading 20-9, the Lady Pats had several attacking errors which allowed CBC to rally to within 24-21 before an Ella Sims' Kill ended the second set in a 25-21 victory for MU.  Sims recorded 5 Kills in the second set to pace the Lady Pats.  In set 3, the Lady Patriots fell behind early, four to five points, and never recovered as they dropped the third set 25-19.  Kenney led the Lady Pats with 4 Kills in the third set.  The fourth set started with momentum in favor of CBC as they moved in front 11-7, then 14-8, before the Lady Patriots began to rally.  The Lady Mustang lead got down to two points on multiple occasions until they lengthened the margin back to four points, 23-19.  Mission was not done yet, as they tied the set, 24-24, then again at 25-25.  Unfortunately for the Lady Pats, CBC had two nice Kills at that juncture, to end the set, 27-25, and take the match, 3-1.  Kenney paced the attack with 8 Kills, while Sims added 5 Kills of her own in the fourth set.

• Summer Kenney paced the squad with 21 Kills.
• Maddie Rue hit a team-high .294.
• Ella Sims had 12 Kills and hit .241.
• Abbi Street paced the team with 16 Digs.
• Ryleigh Fowler had 30 Assists to lead the team.                        

 
Upcoming action:
The Volley Patriots return to action next week to conclude play in the AMC, and the regular season.  The Lady Patriots will host two matches during the week that will go toward determining their AMC playoff position.  On Wednesday, November 6, the Stephens College Stars come to town for a 6 pm start.  Saturday, November 9, the Lady Pats play host to the Lady Cougars of Columbia College at 1 pm.
