How's it going-
The Baseball Patriots played four games this past week in Hot Springs, Arkansas, at Majestic Park, the home of Champion Christian College.  The Patriots swept the four-game series, but it wasn't easy.  In the opener, Jackson Vestal pitched a 2-hit complete game shutout to win 5-0.  In the second contest, Josh Buxton also had a good outing giving up just one run on four hits.  However, he did not pick up the win as the Patriot bats didn't awaken until the top of the eighth inning when they plated three runs.  Tate Wheeler came in to pitch the last two innings and picked up the victory.  In game three, the Tigers scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning.  The Patriots fought back with five runs in the top of the second inning to take the lead, 5-4.  They added to that lead and eventually won 8-5.  The final game of the series was locked in a tight game.  BBC led 1-0, then Champion tied it, 1-1.  Then BBC went up 2-1 in the fifth inning only to see the Tigers score a tally in the bottom of the sixth inning, 2-2.  The Patriot bats finally put together a small rally in the top of the seventh inning going ahead 4-2, then got out of a jam in the bottom of the inning to come away with a 4-3 victory.  Home runs for the week were hit by Bob Andert, Grant Merryman, and Dylan Blehm went deep twice.  All were key to victories.
Who's New!
The Basketball Lady Patriots are excited to announce another transfer to bolster next season's team.   Brooklyn Luna will be a 5-5 guard who is transferring from Missouri Valley College.  Ms. Luna formerly played high school basketball for Fair Grove High School.
The Soccer Patriots are pleased to announce two male players for the upcoming season.  Joining the Men's Soccer Team are Alexander Fernandez and Quinton Doughty.  Fernandez hails from Salem, Massachusetts, while Doughty starred at Lebanon, Missouri.
The Softball Patriots signed four more recruits to the dugout.   The pitching staff added veteran hurler Jocelyn Cunningham, a Junior College transfer from St. Charles Community College.  Cunningham also plays third base.  Locally, Grace Edge, a shortstop from Skyline High School will shore up the infield.  Kloe Hendrickson, a dual sport athlete from Forsyth, will play shortstop and the outfield.  Lauren Johnson, who played for Coach Meinders at Walnut Grove, will play catcher for the Lady Patriots.
The Volleyball Patriots welcome the aforementioned Kloe Hendrickson.
