Offense was at a premium in wild loss versus Oakland City University

Final score-  Oakland City University 14, Baptist Bible College 13
Location-  BBC (US Ballpark) Ozark, Missouri
Springfield, Missouri-  The Mighty Oaks scored a single unearned tally in the first inning, but BBC countered with two runs in the bottom half.  Tate Wheeler led off with a walk and was pushed to third base when Landon Richards doubled him over.  Dylan Blehm grounded out to second for an RBI and Richards advanced to third base.  Haden Parton then grounded out to second base as well to score Richards.
The Mighty Oaks came back in the top of the second to tie the game, 2-2.  The Patriots, however, took the lead back in the bottom half when Drew Wheeler started the inning off with a single.  Sterling Jackson followed that up with a double to make it second and third base for the Patriots.  Grant Merryman singled in D. Wheeler.  Gabe Terry walked to load the bases. T. Wheeler then tripled the runners in.  Richards hit a sacrifice fly to left to score T. Wheeler giving BBC a 7-2 lead.
The bottom of the third the Patriots tacked on three runs.  Brennan Montgomery singled, then D. Wheeler was hit by a pitch.  Jackson moved the runners over with a ground out. Merryman drove in Montgomery with a groundout. Terry singled in D. Wheeler next, then stole second base. T. Wheeler singled him home to make it 10-2, BBC.
The fifth inning proved to be disastrous.  The Mighty Oaks scored 9 runs with a combination of hits and base on balls to seize an 11-10 advantage from starting and relief pitching.  BBC did manage to tie the game up as Merryman doubled, stole third base, and then scored on a sacrifice fly by Terry, 11-11.
The top of the seventh was again a challenge as Oakland City U. plated three more runs to lead 14-11.  The Patriots managed to get two of those runs back in the bottom of the eighth inning when Blehm singled and moved over to third base on a double by pinch hitter Sam Golden.  Montgomery sacrifice flied Blehm in, and then Jayton Cromer singled in Kyle Brattin who had come in to pinch run for Golden.
Despite back-to-back singles by T. Wheeler and Richards in the ninth inning, the Patriots failed to score in dropping a 14-13 decision.
Highlights- Up next-  The Patriots will host Oakland City University from Indiana, again Wednesday, March 15.  The contest is a 9 inning game scheduled to begin at noon at US Ballpark in Ozark.
