Coach Farris joins the Men’s Basketball staff at Mission University in the summer of 2024 after an extensive coaching career high school and college coaching career.  After 51 years of teaching and coaching, Coach Farris is ready to begin number 52 with his new chapter as a Patriot.  His former players have become fine contributors to society in a multitude of professions upon graduation.  Coach Farris believes his past experience will help him be a servant leader for others, both as a staff member and as a mentor to the student athletes.
Coach Farris’ coaching stops include: Wentworth Academy, Kansas City St. Pius X, Crest Ridge, Park University, University of Missouri S&T, and Grandview.  He has had 1 NBA player, 2 European professionals, 4 Division I players, and numerous other players scattered throughout the college divisions.  While at Grandview, his team finished in second place in 2009.  He is a member of the Greater Kansas City Basketball Coaches Association, Missouri Basketball Coaches Association, and the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
Coach Farris’ family includes: wife Rose of 45 years, son James, daughter-in-law Jasmyn, who have 8 year old twins, Silas and Monas, and daughter AnneMarie who is married to Anderson De Lima.
