SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Mission University men's soccer battled back from a two-goal deficit Tuesday morning, but Kansas Wesleyan University held on for a 5-3 victory at home.

Mission opened the scoring in the 10th minute when Nevaun Lindo found the back of the net at 9:35, scoring his first goal of the season unassisted.
Kansas Wesleyan responded with two goals in the opening half, with Alejandro Diaz Castro scoring in the 15th minute before José Valdez added another in the 35th minute to give the Coyotes a 2-1 advantage at halftime.
Kansas Wesleyan extended its lead just 45 seconds into the second half when Juan Manuel Lozada Leon scored to make it 3-1.
The Patriots quickly answered. Michael Sosa scored an unassisted goal at 48:59 to cut the deficit to one before Lindo found the net again at 57:13, this time assisted by Sosa, to tie the match at 3-3.
Kansas Wesleyan regained the lead in the 69th minute when Valdez scored his second goal of the match. Jose Caballero added an insurance goal in the 83rd minute to complete the scoring.
Mission finished with eight shots, including five on goal. Lindo led the Patriots with three shots and two shots on goal, while Sosa recorded two shots and two shots on goal.
Miles Cook played all 90 minutes in goal for Mission and recorded two saves.
