SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Mission University volleyball opened its home schedule Tuesday night with its first victory of the 2026 season, defeating Calvary University in four sets at W.E. Dowell Fieldhouse.
The Patriots dropped the opening set 25-22 before responding with three consecutive victories, winning the second set 25-12, the third 25-17 and the fourth 25-18.
The victory moves Mission to 1-4 on the season, while Calvary falls to 0-4.
Mission vs. Calvary
Calvary took control early in the opening set, earning a 25-22 victory to take a 1-0 lead in the match.
Mission responded in the second set, using a strong offensive performance to pull away for a 25-12 win and even the match at one set apiece.
The Patriots carried that momentum into the third set, earning a 25-17 victory to move ahead 2-1.
Mission then closed out the match in the fourth set, defeating Calvary 25-18 to secure the four-set victory and its first win of the season.
Shelby Evans paced the Patriots' offense throughout the match, recording 18 kills while hitting .344. Jaida Generette added nine kills, while Allie Czachowski finished with eight kills and a team-best .600 hitting percentage.
Mission also received a strong performance from its setters. Addison Brizendine recorded 23 assists, while Callie Terrell added 10 assists as the Patriots finished with 41 assists as a team.
Brizendine also recorded seven service aces, while Terrell added six aces and Czachowski contributed two. Mission finished the match with 22 service aces.
The Patriots recorded 43 kills as a team while hitting .268 for the match. Mission also finished with 31 digs and five block assists.
