Patriots dominate on the road with shutout win at Kansas Christian

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — Mission University baseball delivered one of its most complete performances of the season on Tuesday, shutting out Kansas Christian College 10-0 in a non-conference road matchup.


Pregame

The Patriots entered the midweek contest looking to carry momentum from a series win over UHSP, taking on Kansas Christian in a single-game non-conference matchup.


Game Summary (W, 10-0)

Mission wasted no time setting the tone, jumping on the board in the first inning as Drew Vaughan scored on an RBI double from Zachary Beatty.

The Patriots broke things open in the middle innings. A three-run fourth inning was highlighted by Carter Vienhage's two-run home run, giving Mission a comfortable lead. They continued to add on in the fifth, seventh, and ninth innings, showing consistent offensive pressure throughout the game.

Kaedan Thompson led the charge offensively, going 3-for-4 with three runs scored and an RBI, while Clay Palen added two hits and two RBIs. Vienhage finished with a team-high three RBIs, and Kadean Jacobs drove in two more as part of a 16-hit performance for Mission.

On the mound, Ethan Banks was dominant from start to finish. The right-hander threw a complete game shutout, allowing just one hit while striking out seven and issuing no walks. Kansas Christian never found an answer, as Banks controlled the game from the first pitch to the final out.
