Patriots Claim Series Win Over UHSP With Strong Weekend at Home

OZARK, Mo. — The Mission University Patriots put together a strong weekend at Ozark Mountain Sports Complex, taking two of three games in a conference series against UHSP, highlighted by a walk-off win in the opener and a dominant Game 2 performance.

Pregame

Mission entered the series looking to build momentum in conference play, hosting UHSP for a three-game set at home. The Patriots responded with two wins before dropping the finale.

Game 1 Summary (W, 1-0 — 11 innings)

Game one turned into a classic pitcher's duel, with both teams locked in a scoreless battle deep into extra innings.

Trey Mulholland delivered a dominant start on the mound, tossing 10 shutout innings while allowing just seven hits and striking out seven. UHSP threatened at times, but Mission's defense held firm, keeping the game tied through 10 innings.

In the bottom of the 11th, the Patriots finally broke through. Kadean Jacobs reached and came around to score on a sacrifice fly by Collin Miser, sealing a walk-off 1-0 victory.

Mission managed just five hits but worked nine walks, showing patience at the plate in a tightly contested game.

Game 2 Summary (W, 6-2)

Mission's offense came alive in game two, producing 12 hits in a 6-2 win to clinch the series.

The Patriots struck early, plating two runs in the first inning and adding another in the third. Collin Miser led the charge with a perfect 3-for-3 performance, driving in two runs.

A three-run sixth inning helped Mission pull away, with key extra-base hits from Liam Newman and Kadean Jacobs extending the lead.

On the mound, Jude Tenny delivered a complete game effort, allowing two runs on six hits while striking out eight to earn the win.

Game 3 Summary (L, 7-3)

UHSP responded in the finale, using a big second inning to secure a 7-3 win and avoid the sweep.

Mission fell behind early after UHSP erupted for seven runs in the second inning, capitalizing on hits and timely extra-base production.

The Patriots chipped away with runs in the third, sixth, and ninth innings. Kadean Jacobs drove in a run, while Zachary Beatty and Kaedan Thompson each scored.

Garrett Hunter provided stability out of the bullpen, throwing six shutout innings to keep Mission within reach, but the early deficit proved too much to overcome.
