SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Mission University Softball dropped both games of an AMC doubleheader to Williams Baptist University on Saturday at Cooper Sports Complex.
Game One: Williams Baptist 8, Mission 0
The Patriots were held off the scoreboard in the opener, falling 8–0.
Mission was limited to six hits in the game, with Haley Frillman recording a double and Courtney Merrell and Cole Smith each adding hits.
In the circle, Hailey Presley got the start, throwing 6.1 innings, while Kate Potter recorded the final two outs. Williams Baptist used a big third inning to create separation and control the game.
Game Two: Williams Baptist 9, Mission 1
In game two, Mission was unable to slow down Williams Baptist's offense, falling 9–1 in a shortened contest.
The Patriots managed two hits, with Cole Smith recording a double and Maddie Good driving in Mission's lone run.
Jillian McDaniel started in the circle, with Potter again providing relief as Williams Baptist capitalized on timely hitting to extend their lead.
Looking Ahead
The Patriots move on from the doubleheader after earning a sweep over Crowley's Ridge the day prior and will look to bounce back as they continue there home slate against Southwestern College on Monday.
