Mission Patriots Rally Past Calvary College in High-Scoring Home Win

Ozark, Mo. – March 17, 2026 – The Mission Patriots erased an early deficit with a powerful offensive response, defeating Calvary College 10-7 in a non-conference matchup at home.

Pregame

Mission returned home looking to bounce back after a tough conference series, hosting Calvary in a midweek non-conference contest.

Game Summary

Calvary jumped out to a commanding start, plating four runs in the first inning and adding two more in the second to take a 6-1 lead early.

Despite the deficit, Mission began chipping away. Drew Vaughan scored on a wild pitch in the second, and the Patriots continued to apply pressure heading into the middle innings.

Mission broke through in the fourth inning when Sam Golden delivered a two-run single, cutting the deficit to 6-4. The Patriots kept the momentum going in the fifth, scoring twice more—highlighted by a run scoring on catcher's interference and a sacrifice fly from Kaedan Thompson—to tie the game at 6-6.

The decisive moment came in the sixth inning. Ryan Free launched a two-run home run to give Mission its first lead of the game, and shortly after, Trey Mulholland ripped a two-run double to extend the advantage to 10-6.

From there, Mission's bullpen took control. Ethan Banks provided a key outing in relief, tossing four shutout innings to stabilize the game after the early deficit. The Patriots limited Calvary to just one run over the final seven innings.

Calvary added a run in the ninth, but Garrett Hunter closed the door to secure the 10-7 victory.
