OZARK, Mo. — March 10, 2026 — Mission fell to Oakland City University 18-5 Tuesday afternoon at Ozarks Mountain Sports Complex in a non-conference matchup.
Pregame
Mission entered the game 14-13 overall and 3-0 in conference play after sweeping Harris-Stowe State University in its American Midwest Conference opening series. Tuesday's contest marked a standalone non-conference game during the Patriots' homestand at Ozarks Mountain Sports Complex in Ozark, Missouri.
Game Summary
Oakland City struck quickly in the first inning, taking advantage of walks and hit batters before stringing together multiple hits to score eight runs and build an early lead.
Mission answered in the second inning. Free lined a single to center that brought Thompson home, and Vaughan followed with another single to center that scored Golden to cut the deficit to 8-2.
Oakland City added four more runs in the third with a pair of RBI hits to extend the lead.
The Patriots responded again in the fourth. Newman ripped a double to left that scored Golden and Beatty, and Jacobs followed with a single to center that brought Newman home to make it 12-5.
Oakland City continued to add insurance in the fifth and sixth innings, scoring two runs in each frame to extend the lead.
Mission collected nine hits in the game but was unable to generate additional scoring opportunities in the final innings as Oakland City closed out the non-conference victory.
Mission moves to 14-14 overall following the game.
