Women's Basketball – Harris-Stowe 70, Mission 58
Mission battled throughout but came up short in a 70–58 loss to Harris-Stowe on Thursday evening.
The Lady Patriots stayed competitive early, with the game tied after the first quarter, but Harris-Stowe used a strong second half to pull away. Mission struggled offensively, shooting 33.3% from the field while Harris-Stowe finished at 42.9%.
Miya Nieto led Mission with 21 points on 5-of-13 shooting from three, while Hannah Maxwell added nine points and a team-high 13 rebounds. Ireland Jones chipped in 10 points, and Ashtyn Callaway provided five off the bench.
Mission held a rebounding edge (48–40) and scored 18 points off turnovers, but 20 team turnovers and Harris-Stowe's 27-point fourth quarter proved to be the difference.
Men's Basketball – Mission 105, Harris-Stowe 86
The Patriots responded in a big way in the nightcap, rolling to a 105–86 road victory behind balanced scoring and strong inside play.
Mission shot an even 50.0% from the field and dominated the glass with a 55–38 rebounding advantage while also scoring 50 points in the paint. The Patriots built momentum late in the first half and never looked back, leading by as many as 24 in the second half.
Najee Williams powered the offense with a game-high 31 points on 14-of-22 shooting while grabbing nine rebounds. Clifford Barrow followed with 20 points, and Jamarian Cato and Jordyn Turner each added 16. Turner also contributed four steals, helping Mission force 16 Harris-Stowe turnovers.
Mission also got solid contributions from Justin Gill (six points, eight rebounds) and Rayshaun Fowler, who filled the stat sheet with nine points, three assists, and two steals.
The Patriots finished with 38 bench points and converted 23-of-30 free throws to close out the win.
Both teams will be back home Saturday for a conference game against Hanibal-Lagrange
