Patriots Go 1-3 at Midwest Clash in Tennessee

MILLINGTON, Tenn. — Mission Patriot Baseball went 1-3 over the weekend at the Midwest Clash at the USA Stadium Complex, moving to 8-9 overall after four neutral-site contests.

Mission entered the event at 7-6 and faced Northwestern Ohio, Tennessee Wesleyan, Freed-Hardeman, and Shawnee State across two days of play.


Game 1 – Northwestern Ohio 3, Mission 2

Mission opened the weekend with a tight 3-2 loss despite matching Northwestern Ohio with seven hits.

The Patriots struck first in the third inning when Collin Miser singled to right field to drive in two runs for a 2-0 lead. Northwestern Ohio answered with a three-run fourth inning, capitalizing on a fielder's choice, a wild pitch, and an RBI single to take the lead for good.

Mission put runners on but was held scoreless over the final four innings.

Game 2 – Tennessee Wesleyan 11, Mission 7

Mission showed offensive power in a 7-11 loss, launching three home runs in the contest.

Trey Mulholland gave the Patriots an early 2-0 lead with a first-inning homer. Later, Collin Miser and Kadean Jacobs both homered in the fourth as Mission briefly reclaimed the lead at 5-4.

The game was tied 7-6 entering the bottom of the sixth before Tennessee Wesleyan erupted for five runs to pull away.

Game 3 – Mission 10, Freed-Hardeman 6

Mission bounced back Sunday with a 10-6 win behind timely hitting and a big fourth inning.

After trailing 3-2, the Patriots scored four runs in the fourth to take control. Kaedan Thompson delivered an RBI triple, and Zachary Beatty added a bunt RBI single in the inning. Mission added insurance runs in the fifth and sixth.

Freed-Hardeman cut the deficit to 7-6 in the sixth with two home runs, but Mission responded with three runs in the bottom half to secure the win.

Game 4 – Shawnee State 8, Mission 3

Mission closed the weekend with an 8-3 loss after Shawnee State scored six runs in the second inning.

The Patriots were held scoreless through six innings before breaking through in the seventh on a three-run homer from Trey Mulholland, scoring Mason Lawson and Zachary Beatty.

Mission finished with five hits in the contest.
