Mission Patriot Baseball split a four-game series with Hastings College over Sunday and Monday, opening with a win before alternating losses and closing the set with a strong pitching performance. The first two games were played at Joplin High School in Missouri, while Games 3 and 4 were held at Neosho High School in Missouri.
Game 1 – Mission 7, Hastings 2
Mission opened the series with a 7-2 victory behind a 14-hit performance and strong pitching.
The Patriots struck first in the opening inning when Sam Golden doubled to right field to score Zachary Beatty.
Mission broke the game open in the third inning with five runs. Collin Miser singled to center field to drive in a run, Ryan Free followed with an RBI walk, and Drew Vaughan reached on a fielding error that allowed two runs to score. Kaedan Thompson added an RBI groundout to cap the five-run frame and extend the lead to 6-0.
Clay Palen added an RBI single in the seventh to push the advantage to 7-0 before Hastings scored twice in the bottom of the inning.
Mission totaled 14 hits in the win while striking out 12 Hastings batters.

Mission struck first with two runs in the opening inning on solo home runs from Trey Mulholland and Sam Golden, but a nine-run second inning by Hastings proved decisive in an 11-6 loss.
The Patriots finished with eight hits and three home runs but committed three errors that contributed to five unearned runs.

Hastings scored three runs in the first inning and added one in the second before pulling away with five runs in the fourth and seven more in the fifth in a 16-2 win.
Mission's offense came in the first inning when Trey Mulholland hit a two-run home run to left field, scoring Zachary Beatty.
The Patriots were limited to five hits while Hastings finished with 12 hits and drew 10 walks. Mission committed three errors.

The Patriots scored in the first inning when Trey Mulholland crossed the plate on a wild pitch. Mission added three runs in the second, including an RBI walk by Mulholland and a two-run single by Clay Palen that scored Kadean Jacobs and Zachary Beatty.
Mission recorded four hits and drew eight walks while turning a double play defensively.
