Mission Dominates Crowley’s Ridge Behind Historic Shooting Night

The Mission University women's basketball team delivered a complete performance Friday afternoon, rolling past Crowley's Ridge 92–56 at the Carter Activities Center. The Lady Patriots set the tone early and never looked back, building a commanding halftime lead before cruising to the road victory.

Mission shot efficiently all afternoon, finishing at 42.5% from the field and knocking down 18 three-pointers as a team. The Patriots also forced 29 Crowley's Ridge turnovers, turning those miscues into 36 points and consistently creating separation on the scoreboard.

Fast Start Sets the Tone

Mission came out firing from the opening tip, jumping out to a 25–13 lead after the first quarter and extending the margin to 61–25 by halftime. The Lady Patriots moved the ball well, finishing with 23 assists, and shared the scoring load throughout the lineup. Defensively, Mission's pressure disrupted Crowley's Ridge into rushed possessions and empty trips, allowing the Patriots to control the pace for all four quarters.

Miya Nieto Puts Together a Historic Performance

Miya Nieto turned in one of the most impressive shooting performances in program history, putting on an unforgettable first half. Nieto poured in 37 points before halftime, drilling 10 three-pointers in the opening two quarters alone. (8 in the 2nd Quarter)

She finished the game with 40 points in just 20 minutes of action, connecting on 11 three-pointers while shooting 14-for-21 from the field. Nieto's scoring burst stretched the defense beyond its limits and completely shifted the momentum early, giving Mission a lead it would never surrender.

Balanced Contribution Across the Roster

In addition to Nieto's standout night, the Lady Patriots saw contributions across the entire lineup. Every Mission player who entered the game scored, marking the first time this season the team had scoring from every available player. That balance, paired with defensive pressure and unselfish ball movement, allowed Mission to maintain control even as rotations shifted throughout the second half.
