Game Recap: Men's Basketball | | Dawson Lee Meinders

Patriots fall in road doubleheader at Columbia College

Women's Basketball Recap

The Mission women dropped an 83–54 decision to Columbia College in their conference matchup.

Mission came out with strong energy in the opening quarter, matching Columbia's intensity on both ends of the floor. The Patriots executed well offensively, shared the ball, and defended with purpose, keeping the game competitive early. That early stretch reflected the team's preparation and focus, as Mission showed poise and confidence against a quality conference opponent before Columbia was able to build momentum later in the game.

Columbia went on to stretch the lead across all three quarters, using efficient shooting. Mission battled throughout, continuing to compete on both ends, but struggled to find offensive rhythm against the Cougar defense. The Patriots were able to get to the free throw line and limited turnovers compared to recent outings, but Columbia's depth and shot-making proved to be the difference on the night.

Men's Basketball Recap

The Mission men fell 90–77 to No. 22-ranked Columbia College in a challenging road environment. Columbia established control early and maintained its lead throughout the game behind strong interior play and second-chance opportunities. For the Patriots, Najee Williams led the way with 21 points, while Clifford Barrow added 19 on efficient shooting. Jamarian Cato chipped in 14 points and six rebounds as Mission shot 46.8 percent from the field and 76.9 percent at the free-throw line.

Mission continued to compete and had stretches of offensive success, but the Cougars' size and rebounding presence made it difficult to close the gap. Despite the result, the Patriots gained valuable experience against a nationally ranked opponent as conference play continues to intensify.
