Mission University Men's Soccer dropped its second match of the young season on Tuesday evening, falling 4–0 to John Brown University at Allison Sports Town.
The Golden Eagles struck early and often in the first half. Gabriel Cabrera opened the scoring in the 8th minute, followed by Atim Roper in the 16th minute and Marcos Miranda in the 25th to give John Brown a 3–0 halftime lead. They added one more after the break when Constantin Bauer finished in the 58th minute, sealing the 4–0 result.
Mission had some bright moments offensively, led by Andrey Smolin, who registered two shots on goal. Daniel Williams and Kyler Rowe also tested the John Brown defense with attempts of their own.
In net, the Patriots split time between Robert Crosswhite and Jordon Shaw, who combined for nine saves on 15 shots on target. Crosswhite stopped four shots in the first half, while Shaw added five saves in the second.
With the result, Mission falls to 0–2 on the year. The Patriots will return to the pitch on Saturday, September 6, hosting Southwest Baptist University at Lake Country Soccer. Kickoff is set for 6:00 PM.
