Box Score Springfield, MO – September 13, 2025 – The Mission University volleyball team delivered a dominant performance at Hilly Beck Court at W.E. Dowell Fieldhouse on Saturday, defeating Calvary University in straight sets, 25-20, 25-23, 25-19. The win marks Mission's latest sweep of the season and sets the program up with momentum heading into its first AMC conference game next week.
Set 1: Mission 25, Calvary 20
Mission came out strong in the first set, trading points early in a 4-4 tie before a key kill by Allie Czachowski (#16) gave the home team an edge. Mission extended its lead to 8-4, prompting a timeout from Calvary. With Hannah Maxwell (#17) adding a kill to push the lead to 12-7 and Sarah Purcell (#28) finishing the set with a big kill to the middle, Mission closed out Set 1, 25-20.
Set 2: Mission 25, Calvary 23
Set 2 featured a tightly contested battle as both teams exchanged points early. Mission edged ahead at 10-8 following a kill from Shelby Evans (#8). Calvary briefly took the lead at 15-13, but Abbi Street (#4) stopped the run with a powerful kill. A 3-1 run by Mission forced a Calvary timeout at 17-16, and a timely block from Allie Czachowski (#16) kept Mission in control. Street delivered the final kill of the set, securing a 25-23 victory for the home team.
Set 3: Mission 25, Calvary 19
In Set 3, Mission looked to complete the sweep. Calvary opened with the first point, but Mission quickly regained momentum. Substitution Karsyn Ryan (#12) energized the team, while Hannah Maxwell (#17) made a block and followed with a kill to give Mission a 6-5 lead. Abbi Street (#4) continued to shine offensively, and a strong serve from Jessie Keith (#2) forced a Calvary error, extending the lead to 17-12. Mission maintained control, and Allie Czachowski (#16) sealed the match with a final kill, ending Set 3 at 25-19.
With strong contributions across the lineup and standout performances from Allie Czachowski, Abbi Street, Hannah Maxwell, and Sarah Purcell, Mission University demonstrated its depth, cohesion, and ability to perform in critical moments. The team now turns its attention to the first AMC conference matchup of the season, traveling to face Stephens College on Wednesday, September 17, at 6:00 PM in Stlcop Gymnasium.
