Ozark, Missouri: The University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy Eutectics jumped on Mission University for a 4-0 lead by the bottom of the third inning. The Patriots finally came alive with a big inning, seven runs, to take the lead for good to win their opening round contest of the American Midwest Conference Tournament.
Carter Vienhage started the third inning off by singling to third base.
Tate Wheeler followed with a single to right field to make it first and second with no one out. Both runners advanced a base on a wild pitch, then Vienhage scored on
Landon Richards' single to deep shortstop.
Trey Mulholland then doubled down left field to score Wheeler. Still with no one out,
Brennan Montgomery tied the contest with a double to left center that plated Richards and Mulholland.
Sam Golden then hit the go-ahead double to right center field to score Montgomery.
Kyle Langford came in to courtesy run for Golden. After the Eutectics recorded the first out of the inning,
Ian Brown drew a walk. A second Patriot out was next, but then Vienhage provided two more Mission runs with a double to right center, 7-4, MU. The Patriots struck again in the bottom of the sixth inning, scoring four more runs to make it 11-4. Vienhage singled through the left side, then he stole second base as an out was recorded by the Eutectics. Richards doubled him in with a shot to right center. A second Patriot out followed. Montgomery then singled down the right field line to score Richards. Golden drew a base on balls.
Dylan Blehm then doubled down the right field line to score both runners. MU pitching, settled down after the third inning and scattered a few singles over the last six innings of play. The scoring wrapped up with the Patriots pushing a run across in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Grant Merryman doubled to left center to start the inning. In a rare move, relief pitcher
Ryan Congemo came to bat. In the meantime, Merryman stole third base. Congemo drew a walk and was pinch run for by
Landon Parker. Merryman came in to score as the Patriots ground in to a double play.

The Patriots continue play in the AMC Tournament in O'Fallon, Missouri, on Wednesday, April 30, in the winners' bracket semifinal against Columbia College. Weather permitting, the contest will begin at 3 pm.
