Springfield, Missouri- The Lady Patriots got on the scoreboard first in the opener. After one Lady Patriot out was recorded,
Kloe Hendrickson doubled to right center.
Jocelyn Cunningham singled to the pitcher resulting in MU runners at the corners. Cunningham stole second and Hendrickson ended up scoring on an error by the catcher. The Lady Falcons came right back with a run in the bottom of the first inning to tie the game. The Lady Pats had a big second inning, scoring five, and taking the lead for the last time.
Cole Smith reached on an error by the left fielder.
Sequoia Cronlund came in as a pinch runner for Smith.
Karissa Roberts was next and she singled to left field moving Cronlund over to third.
Kate Potter ripped a double to left center to score Cronlund.
Ellie Mitchell tried to sacrifice bunt, but made it safely to first when the Lady Falcons elected to try to get the Patriot runners out. Now with the bases loaded,
Courtney Merrell singled up the middle to drive in Roberts. The Lady Patriots made an out next with the bases still loaded. Cunningham then singled to left field to push Potter across the plate. A second Patriot out followed. Mitchell then was able to score from third on a wild pitch. A few pitches later Merrell also scored on a wild pitch, 6-1 MU. The next scoring came in the top of the fourth by the Lady Patriots.
Apryl Zeno hit a one-out home run to center field. Mission added another single tally in the fifth inning. Mitchell drew a walk to start the inning, then stole second base. Merrell then hit a fly out to center field, which ultimately was good enough for Mitchell to score, 8-1 MU. The Lady Falcons bounced back a bit in the bottom of the fifth by scoring a pair of runs to draw within 8-3. Mission scored two more runs in the top of the seventh inning. Mitchell reached base on a strikeout which was a passed ball by the catcher. After one out was recorded by the Lady Falcons, Mitchell stole second base. One more out later, Mitchell also stole third base. Cunningham then singled to the pitcher which drove in Mitchell. Zeno finished the scoring when she drove the ball to left field, resulting in a RBI triple. The Lady Falcons rallied a bit in the bottom of the seventh, scoring two, but fell short, 10-5.

In the second game of the doubleheader, the Lady Patriots fell behind early, 2-0 after two innings and never recovered. The Lady Patriots managed to draw within 2-1 in the top of the third inning with a two out rally, but that would be as close as they would come to winning the second game. In the third,
Kloe Hendrickson singled to shortstop with two outs.
Jocelyn Cunningham then doubled to center field to drive in Hendrickson. The Lady Falcons answered with two of their own runs in the bottom half of the inning, then scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to put the game away. Mission managed just two hits, both singles by
Maddie Good and
Courtney Merrell, after the third inning.
