SPRINGFIELD, Missouri – The Lady Patriots were in control from the opening tip-off and coasted to a 98-42 victory to claim their first NCCAA Women's Regional Tournament since the program was brought back in existence. The last Regional title was achieved by Baptist Bible College in 1999. Though the team did not shoot well, they turned numerous Lady Royals turnovers into easy layups in the first quarter. The Lady Patriots started with a 6-0 lead, built it to 23-7 with 1:46 remaining in the first quarter causing Ecclesia to take their third timeout. The Lady Patriots finished ahead, 27-7, when the first ten minutes ended. The lead gradually increased during the second period, up to 30 points, 41-11, on a trey by
Miya Nieto with 4:22 remaining in the first half. The half ended on a 14-6 Mission run with the Patriots in front 55-17. The entire Patriot squad played at least eight minutes, 9 of which played at least 13 minutes. MU poured it on in the third quarter, winning the period 28-11, to take a 83-28 advantage into the final quarter. The Lady Royals did win the fourth quarter, but the outcome was never in doubt. Four Lady Patriots finished in double figures, two of which came off the bench to make major contributions.
