Branson, Missouri:  In the opening game of day 2 of the Branson Bash Tournament, the Lady Patriots were right there until the final inning in giving the St. Mary-Woods University Pomeroys a tough tussle.  The Lady Patriots scored first, a single tally in the bottom of the opening inning.  After one out, Apryl Zeno beat out a bunt single.  After a second out, Jocelyn Cunningham singled to center field, pushing Zeno to second base.  Maddie Good followed with a single to left field that score Zeno.  The Pomeroys had a strong second inning as they plated three runs on four hits to take a 3-1 lead.  The Lady Pats got one of those runs back in the bottom of the third inning. Kloe Hendrickson singled to deep second base to start the attack.  After a line out to right and a fly out to center field, Hendrickson stole second base.  Cunningham singled through the right side to drive in Hendrickson, making it 3-2 SMWU.  The Pomeroys exploded in the top half of the seventh inning, scoring four runs to increase their lead to 7-2.  The Lady Patriots failed to mount a counter attack in falling by that score.
Highlights-
In the second game, the Lady Patriots played York University in a close, competitive game, before falling 5-2.  The Lady Lions scored a single run in the bottom of the first inning, then added two more runs in the bottom of the third stanza.  Single tallies in each of the fifth and sixth innings, gave York University a 5-0 lead.  MU began to rally in the top of the seventh inning.  After the leadoff hitter failed to reach base for the Lady Patriots, Kloe Hendrickson helped start a rally by earning a walk.  Apryl Zeno hit a sharp grounder to the third baseman, who then tried to force out Hendrickson at second base, put the third baseman air-mailed a throw allowing both MU runners to be safe.  Courtney Merrell then singled to center field driving in Hendrickson from second base and moving Zeno to second.  Jocelyn Cunningham drew a base on balls to load the bases.  Alehsyn Zinn grounded out to the pitcher, but that allowed Zeno to score.  Unfortunately, the rally ended with the next Lady Patriot batter and the game ended, 5-2, York University.
Highlights- Up Next-
The Lady Patriots have the next week off before they play an exhibition doubleheader against NCAA Division 2 Southwest Baptist University, on Tuesday, February 18.  The games are scheduled for 12 and 2 pm.
