SPRINGFIELD, Missouri – The Lady Patriots were off and running in their latest AMC contest. The Lady Patriots scored 40 points in the first quarter as they gradually built a 40-10 advantage after the first ten minutes of action. Four three-pointers from both
Brooklyn Luna and
Laney Humble in the first quarter set the tone for the easy win. Mission University made 17 of 26 shots from beyond the arc for the game and 65 percent from that range. The Lady Trojans had a better second quarter, losing it just 19-13, but trailed the Lady Pats 59-23 at intermission. It was truly a team effort throughout the contest.
In the third quarter, a 17-6 run in the first five plus minutes, boosted the lead to 47 points, 76-29. Humble continued her assault from the three-point line, as did Luna during the second half. Luna finished shooting 7 of 8 from beyond the arc, Humble was a perfect 6 of 6. Every Lady Patriots played at least 9 minutes in the contest. Five players recorded career highs in the scoring column.
