Patriots Earn First Win of the Season Behind Williams’ Debut Performance

BELLEVUE, Neb. — November 7, 2025
The Mission University Men's Basketball team earned its first win of the season on Friday afternoon, knocking off Dickinson State University 92–87 in the opening game of the Bellevue Classic inside the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center.

The Patriots showcased their best offensive outing of the young season, shooting 49% from the field and 50% from three-point range while controlling momentum late. Mission also made the most of its trips to the line, hitting 16-of-19 free throws (84%) to hold off a second-half push from the Blue Hawks.

Williams Shines in First Game

In his first game in a Patriot uniform, Najee Williams delivered a breakout performance — scoring 31 points on 11-of-22 shooting while adding six rebounds and three assists. The Senior guard brought the crowd to its feet midway through the second half with a powerful dunk that cut the lead to two and swung momentum firmly in Mission's favor.

Clifford Barrow knocked down four three-pointers on his way to 14 points, while Justin Gill added 13 points and six rebounds in another steady effort. Lawson Beem contributed 11 points and three assists, and Sterling Vinson chipped in seven as Mission's balanced attack kept Dickinson State on its heels.

Team Performance

Mission's bench poured in 47 points, led by Williams' debut, and the Patriots shared the ball well with 13 assists on 32 made field goals. The team's perimeter shooting proved key — going 12-of-24 from deep — while forcing 12 turnovers and holding Dickinson State to just 21% from three-point range.
