SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — October 25, 2025
Mission University men's soccer earned its second consecutive draw on Saturday afternoon, playing Hannibal-LaGrange University to a 1–1 tie in American Midwest Conference play at Lake Country Soccer Complex.
The Trojans struck first in the 13th minute when Alejandro Montero found the back of the net unassisted, putting the visitors ahead 1–0. Mission continued to press throughout the match and finally broke through late, when Nevan Lindo scored the equalizer in the 86th minute off an assist from Clayton McClellan.
How It Happened
Despite trailing early, the Patriots maintained composure and generated consistent second-half pressure. Lindo's goal — his second of the season — capped a strong team build-up that began near midfield and gave Mission a well-deserved result.
Goalkeeper Jordon Shaw anchored the defense with four saves over 90 minutes, including a key stop in the closing minutes to preserve the draw. Mission totaled six shots and four on goal, while HLGU outshot the Patriots 13–6 overall.
