Patriots Battle to 1–1 Draw at UHSP

ST. LOUIS, Mo. — October 21, 2025
Mission University men's soccer earned its first result of the season Tuesday afternoon, drawing 1–1 with the University of Health Sciences & Pharmacy at Creve Coeur Park in St. Louis.

The Patriots jumped ahead midway through the first half when Andrey Smolin netted his third goal of the season, assisted by Austin Miller in the 33rd minute. UHSP equalized in the 56th minute on a strike from Mohammed Alkenani, and neither side could break the deadlock the rest of the way.

How It Happened

Mission controlled much of the early possession, outshooting UHSP 9–4 in the first half and 18–10 overall. The Patriots created multiple scoring chances late, including shots on goal from Smolin, Miller, Monthati Molomo, and Kauan Amaro, but were turned away by UHSP keeper Christian Morales, who tallied seven saves.

Goalkeeper Jordon Shaw made four saves for Mission, anchoring a strong defensive effort that held the Eutectics to just five shots on target.
