The Lady Patriots put up a good effort against NCAA Division 2 Southwest Baptist University on the road before falling in straight sets.  In the opening set, the Lady Bearcats gradually pulled away for a 25-16 win.  Summer Kenney posted 3 Kills in the set to lead the Lady Patriots.  In the second set, MU dug themselves into an early deficit, 5-1, and never really recovered, only able to get within 3, 11-8, before falling 25-14.  Kenney again led the MU attack, this time with 5 Kills.  The third set turned out to be a battle. SBU got off to a quick start while building a 10-3 lead.  The Lady Pats then fell behind by ten points, 17-7, before the rally took place.  MU worked the deficit down to 23-16, then put together a 4-0 run to draw within 23-20. Ella Sims had a nice Kill to keep the Lady Patriots alive at 24-21, but the Lady Bearcats responded on their next possession to win the set 25-21, and match.  Kenney knocked down 4 Kills to lead the Lady Pats in the final set.

• Summer Kenney led the way with 12 Kills.
• Ryleigh Fowler led the squad in hitting with a .308.
• Janalyn Kralicek had 14 Assists to pace the team.
• Abbi Street made 12 Digs on the defensive side of the net to lead the team.

The Volley Patriots head to Ankeny, Iowa, on Saturday, October 12, for a match at 3:30 pm against the Faith Baptist Bible College Lady Eagles.
