The Patriots played host to the Hannibal LaGrange University Trojans in the first home match since 2017 when the sport was ended by BBC previously.  The brand new facility is expected to help with recruiting as it is a showcase.  With continued improvements slated, a scorer's box, stands for the Patriot faithful to come sit in, locker rooms, and the large electric score board to be fully operational, Baptist Bible College hopes to continue the growth of soccer in Springfield.
The contest was quite a challenge for the mostly freshmen squad of Patriots as they faced a veteran NAIA team in Hannibal-LaGrange.  The Trojans were on the offensive much of the match and proved to be too skilled at several positions for the Patriots to stop.  HLU scored six times in the opening half and tacked on four more for a final of 10-0.  One positive was the offensive push displayed by striker Quinton Doughty, getting his first start in that position.
