The Patriots nail down sweep of Dallas Christian College with convincing win and another strong pitching performance

Final score-  Baptist Bible College 5, Dallas Christian College 1
Location-  BBC (US Ballpark) Ozark, Missouri
Springfield, Missouri-  The Crusaders scored first for the second consecutive game, but the end result was the same; a Patriot victory.  Dallas Christian plated a run in the first inning and then Josh Buxton shut them down the rest of the way.
The Patriots matched that run with one of their own in the first inning.  Landon Richards singled, then stole second base.  With two outs, Brennan Montgomery singled in Richards to tie the score, 1-1.
Neither squad made much of a threat until BBC pushed two runs across in the bottom of the fourth inning.  Kam Grant led off the inning with a deep drive to right-centerfield that cleared the wall near the 375 foot marker.  Not to be outdone by Grant, one out later, Jayton Cromer hit a deeper drive to the base of the dead centerfield wall which caromed away from the centerfielder.  Cromer took advantage of that and the slow response by the right fielder attempting to back up the play, to streak around the bases for an inside-the-park home run to give the Patriots a 3-1 lead.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, BBC tacked on a couple of insurance runs to give Buxton a 5-1 lead.  Brennan Montgomery doubled to start the inning.  Landry Delgado was brought in to pinch run for Montgomery.  Grant nearly duplicated his drive in the fourth inning when he ripped another ball to the same area and this time ran his way to a triple to drive in Delgado.  Drew Wheeler then hit a sacrifice fly to centerfield that was ample in its length to drive in Grant.
Buxton allowed a hit and two walks over the last three innings to earn the win.
Highlights- Up next-  The Patriots go on the road next week, Friday and Saturday, March 31 and April 1, to Kansas Christian College, in Overland Park, Kansas.  Game times are tentatively set for 1 and 3 pm.
