Final score- College of the Ozarks 7, Baptist Bible College 5
Location- C. of O. (Bob Smith Field) Point Lookout, Missouri
Springfield, Missouri- The Bobcats made an early lead hold up despite the Patriots' rally in the middle innings. College of the Ozarks put five runs on the scoreboard in the bottom of the second inning to take the lead that they would never give up.
The Patriots finally got their offense going in the top half of the fourth inning.
Dylan Blehm started the inning off with a single to centerfield. Two wild pitches later Blehm was on third base with no one out.
Haden Parton worked a base on balls from the pitcher to put runners on the corner.
Kamron Grant laced a nice, deep double that drove in both runners.
Drew Wheeler then drove in Grant with a double of his own to right field. After a C. of O. pitching change, the Patriots were unable to add any more runs.
The Bobcats got one of those runs back in the bottom of the fourth inning to make the deficit 6-3 in favor of College of the Ozarks.
BBC countered with two runs in the top of the fifth inning to draw within 6-5.
Grant Merryman worked the pitcher for a one out walk. He moved to second base on a wild pitch. Blehm also garnered a walk, making it first and second with one out. That precipitated another Bobcat pitching change. Parton was then hit by a pitch to jam the bases.
Elijah Nadurata was brought in to pinch run for Blehm at that point. Grant hit a grounder to the first baseman that was good enough to score Merryman and move Nadurata and Parton into scoring position. Nadurata added the last run for BBC on yet another wild pitch by the C. of O. pitching staff.
College of the Ozarks added an insurance run in the bottom of the fifth inning to make the score 7-5, and then the Patriots only had one hit in the final two at-bats to drop the game.
