SPRINGFIELD, Missouri- The Patriots were host to the Bacone Warriors, but the game was played in Bolivar, Missouri, due to an electrical issue on the BBC campus. During the first few minutes of play in the opening half, the two squads played fairly even. Midway through the first half the Patriots had a scoring spurt that gave them the lead for good and then they ran away to post a 49-26 halftime lead. The second half began much like the first, as the teams played fairly even with BBC holding a twenty, or so, point lead. The Patriots got their running game going again and pushed the lead to 77-44 with about 7 minutes remaining. The Warriors put on a run of their own, drawing within 19, 80-61, as the Patriots grew cold from the field. The Patriots had good offensive looks at the basket, but struggled to knock down the shots for about a five minute stretch. The Patriots created more turnovers on the opposition than they committed, 22-14, and edged the Warriors out in overall field goal shooting, 43 to 41 percent. The telling statistic for the game was the 37 to 26 percent advantage the Patriots had from the three-point line, as they knocked down 16 for the contest.
Quinn Kusgen recorded a double-double of a game-high 21 points and ten rebounds.
