SPRINGFIELD, Missouri- The Patriots played a very competitive game against NAIA Arkansas Baptist College that featured 9 ties and 12 lead changes. The Buffaloes led by as many as 9 points with 8:23 remaining in the first half, before the Patriots rallied to trail by a bucket, 35-33, at intermission. The second half was controlled by the Patriots much of the way as they were ahead by 13 with 5:46 to go, but they could not hang on. Pressure put on by the Buffaloes in the last five minutes proved to be too much for BBC to handle as they made numerous turnovers down the stretch, giving up the lead late, then dropping the decision 89-86. The Patriots fought to the final horn despite facing continuous foul trouble. The Patriots shot 55 percent for the contest compared to 50 percent by the Buffaloes. The free throw differential proved to be important as the Patriots canned 14 of 17, but Arkansas Baptist made 22 of 29. The turnover comparison was not favorable for the Patriots either, 22-9.
