Baptist Bible College Lady Patriots hang tough against Baker University before falling

SPRINGFIELD, Missouri – The Lady Patriots played well again on the road battling the Baker Wildcats before dropping an 86-76 decision. BBC stayed close throughout, trailing 22-16 at the end of the first quarter and then 46-39 at intermission. The Lady Patriots came out of the halftime locker room and gradually chipped away at the lead, taking their only lead of two points with 3:20 left in the third quarter. The Wildcats responded with a run that resulted in BBC trailing 69-61 with a period remaining. The Lady Patriots were unable to close the gap in the fourth period, however, allowing Baker University the win. The Wildcat quickness and size created problems much of the contest.
HIGHLIGHTS
· Cassidy Hambelton had 28 points to pace the team.
· Abby Woolsey and Essieana Bennett pulled down 7 rebounds each, to lead the way.
· Kamryn Mack and Hambelton collected 2 Assists each, to lead the team.
· Hambelton made 3 steals to lead the Lady Patriots.
· Bennett had 3 blocked shots.
· Others in double figures were: Woolsey 16 and Mack 11.

The BBC Lady Patriots play their first home contests of the season this upcoming week. On Tuesday, November 1, the Lady Patriots will face off against Central Baptist College at 6 pm. On Thursday, November 3, Avila University comes to town for a 5:30 pm match-up.
