John Presko

John has had a love for sports since he was a kid.  He grew up playing baseball, basketball, running track and even a year of football in high school. After graduating from Thayer, Kansas High School John went to Ozark Christian College to play basketball and study ministry. Upon graduating from OCC, John started ministering as a Youth and Associate Minister in El Dorado Springs, Missouri, then Owasso, Oklahoma, followed by Norman, Oklahoma and finally Topeka, Kansas, during the first 14 years of his ministry career. After spending three years as Senior Minister at a small church in Nowata, Oklahoma, John was called to Northside Christian Church where he has been the Small Group and Involvement Minister since 2009.  

John has been the Outdoor Athletic Chaplain for Mission University since the 2023-2024 school year and loves helping coaches and student athletes draw closer to Jesus through prayer, devotionals, Bible studies and encouragement.  

John has been married to his bride, Brenda, since 1991 and they have three children, JP, Brooklyn & Becca. 

One of John’s favorite verses is 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, “Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”
