LAKE WALES, Fla. — February 27-28, 2026 — Mission battled throughout a four-game road series at Warner University but came away with a split on Saturday after dropping three of four games to the Royals.
Pregame
Mission entered the weekend 9-10 overall as the Patriots opened the four-game set at Warner University in Lake Wales, Florida.
Game 1 – Warner 3, Mission 2
Warner struck early with single runs in the first and second innings to take a 2-0 lead.
Mission answered in the fourth when Drew Vaughan singled to left field, bringing home Kyle Langford to cut the deficit to 2-1.
The Royals added an unearned run in the sixth to extend the lead to 3-1. Mission threatened late in the eighth, as Collin Miser delivered a sacrifice fly to score Clay Palen and make it 3-2, but Warner closed the door in the ninth.
Vaughan finished with two hits and an RBI. Ryan Congemo allowed just one unearned run over five innings of relief, striking out five.
Game 2 – Warner 7, Mission 6
Mission broke through in the fifth inning with four runs, capitalizing on Warner errors. Kaedan Thompson singled home a run, and Kadean Jacobs added an RBI single as the Patriots built a 4-1 advantage.
The Patriots added two more in the sixth on an RBI single from Mason Lawson and aggressive baserunning from Collin Miser to take a 6-3 lead.
Warner responded with a decisive six-run bottom of the sixth. Jhenzel Figueroa delivered a three-run double to tie the game, and Gabriel Rodriguez followed with an RBI single to give the Royals a 7-6 edge.
Mission was unable to answer in the seventh.
Thompson collected two hits and an RBI. Jude Tenny struck out 10 over five innings in the start.
Game 3 – Mission 5, Warner 4
Mission earned its lone win of the series Saturday, rallying from an early deficit.
After Warner built a 4-1 lead through three innings, the Patriots chipped away. Kadean Jacobs delivered an RBI single in the fourth, and Mission tied the game in the fifth on an error and an RBI single from Sam Golden.
Drew Vaughan provided the go-ahead run in the sixth with an RBI single through the right side to score Kaedan Thompson, giving Mission a 5-4 lead.
Brendyn Paulsen earned the win with 2.1 scoreless innings in relief, and Zach Still secured the final five outs for his first save of the season.
Thompson finished 2-for-3 with an RBI and a stolen base, while Carter Vienhage scored twice.
Game 4 – Warner 17, Mission 5
Warner used a nine-run second inning to seize control of the series finale.
The Royals scored nine runs on five hits and four walks in the frame to build a 9-0 lead.
Mission responded with three runs in the third. Trey Mulholland, Clay Palen, and Carter Vienhage each drove in a run to cut the margin to 9-3. The Patriots added two more in the fifth on RBI singles from Zachary Beatty and Kaedan Thompson to make it 9-5.
Warner answered with four runs in the fifth and four more in the sixth to pull away for the 17-5 final.
Vienhage and Beatty each had two hits. Mulholland, Palen, Thompson, and Beatty recorded RBIs.
