Patriots open 2026 season with series split at Huston–Tillotson

Austin, Texas — Mission University baseball opened the 2026 season with a four-game series at Huston–Tillotson University, finishing the weekend with a 2–2 split as the Patriots showed flashes of their offensive potential while logging valuable early-season innings on the mound.

Game 1 – Huston–Tillotson 4, Mission 0

Mission dropped the season opener 4–0 as the Rams scored in the middle innings and held the Patriots scoreless.

The Patriots collected several hits but were unable to generate sustained offense. Mission pitching kept the game within reach early, but Huston–Tillotson capitalized on timely hitting to pull away.

Game 2 – Mission 4, Huston–Tillotson 2

Mission responded in Game 2 with a 4–2 victory to earn its first win of the season.

The Patriots scored four runs on steady offense, using situational hitting and aggressive baserunning to build a lead. Mission pitching limited damage throughout the game, allowing just two runs while working out of multiple scoring threats to secure the win.

Game 3 – Mission 24, Huston–Tillotson 2

The Patriots broke the series open in Game 3 with a dominant 24–2 win, erupting offensively while maintaining control on the mound.
