Ozark, Missouri: The seventh seeded Patriots opened up the NCCAA College World Series by taking on the tenth seeded Arlington Baptist University Patriots.  The Pats got on the scoreboard first, as they plated one run in the bottom of the first inning.  After the first two Patriots had hit the ball hard for outs, the rally started with Brennan Montgomery drawing a walk.  Sam Golden followed with a single to center field which pushed Montgomery to third base.  Dylan Blehm then singled through the right side of the infield to knock in Montgomery.  The second inning for Arlington was the only shaky inning for MU starter Jackson Vestal.  Vestal yielded a run after a hit batsman, then a throwing error by him on the next batter, followed by a double, tying the game at 1-1.  Mission would take the lead for good in the bottom of the third inning with a run.  Golden singled to center with one out.  Kyle Langford courtesy ran for Golden.  As Blehm was batting, Langford stole second base.  On out later, Ian Brown drew a walk.  Grant Merryman then singled up the middle to score Langford, 2-1 MU.  The bottom of the sixth inning was pivotal as MU Patriots scored three runs for a 5-1 lead and the momentum was in their favor going into the top of the seventh inning.  In the sixth, Merryman began the action by reaching on an error by the second baseman.  Carter Vienhage then bunt singled so well that Merryman was able to advance to third base with no one out.  Tate Wheeler followed with a double down the left field line that scored both runners.  The Pats then made two outs that helped get Wheeler to third base.  Montgomery laced a single to center that scored Wheeler.  Vestal scattered two hits over the seventh and eighth innings.  Garrett Hunter came in at the top of the ninth inning setting Arlington down in order for the MU Patriots to advance to the quarter finals, 5-1. In the second game, the Patriots struggled early, but rallied to win their quarterfinal round game against second seeded Concordia-Ann Arbor University.  The Cardinals scored first, a single run in the bottom of the first.  Mission managed to tie the game, 1-1, in the top of the third inning.  After a leadoff out, Tate Wheeler singled to right field.  Landon Richards singled up the middle pushing Wheeler to third.  Trey Mulholland hit a sacrifice fly RBI to right field, scoring Wheeler.  The Cardinals came back strong in the bottom half as they scored two runs and caused a pitching change for MU.  Concordia added a single tally in the bottom of the fourth, then two more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, to take a commanding 6-1 lead.  The Pats could have rolled over and taken the loss forcing them into the loser's bracket, but they didn't.  In the top of the sixth inning, Mission got back into the game by scoring four runs.  Trey Mulholland hit a deep shot to right center field for a leadoff double.  Brennan Montgomery then drew a base on balls next.  Sam Golden reached on a fielder's choice as the Cardinal shortstop elected to try a double play at second base, but threw wildly.  Kyle Langford came in to courtesy run for Golden.  Dylan Blehm then reached on a fielder's choice as the second baseman for Concordia booted the ball in a sure out at second base.  When the play ended, Mulholland and Montgomery had scored.  A Cardinal pitching change then resulted in two Patriot outs with runners at the corners for MU.  Carter Vienhage singled to right to score Langford and push Blehm to third, but the right fielder booted the ball allowing Blehm to come around to also score, making it 6-5 Concordia.  Neither squad scored in the seventh or eighth inning, though the Patriots had a great chance in the eighth when Golden led off the inning with a triple to right center.  In the ninth, for the second time in the game, the Pats had a big inning, scoring four runs to take a 9-6 lead.  Vienhage singled to left to begin the inning.  Langford pinch ran for Vienhage.  Wheeler hit the ball to the pitcher next, who fumbled the play giving the Pats runners at first and third with no outs.  Mulholland drew a hard-earned walk to load the bases.  The game became tied, 6-6, when the second pitch to Brennan Montgomery was a wild pitch.  Montgomery walked three pitches later.  Zach Stenger came in to pinch run for Montgomery. Now, with runners at second and third, Golden had a golden opportunity to do some damage.  The Cardinals, normally a good defensive team, made another error, this time at third base, scoring the go ahead run by Wheeler.  Blehm then ripped a single to right scoring both Stenger and Mulholland, 9-6 MU.  Trey Mulholland, who came in, in relief during the sixth inning, shut any Cardinal rally down when Concordia was retired in order in the bottom of the ninth.
