Results:  Mission University 12, Williams Baptist University 2
Mission University 8, Williams Baptist University 5

Ozark, Missouri: The Patriots jumped out in front with two runs in the first inning of the opening game of day2 in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, against the Williams Baptist University Eagles.  Landon Richards left off where he stopped yesterday as he crushed a double to left field to begin the game.  After two Patriot outs were recorded by the Eagles, Sam Golden earned a walk.  Kyle Langford came in as a courtesy runner for Golden.  The Eagles pitcher tried to pick off Langford, but made a bad throw which resulted in Richards scoring and Langford moving to second base.  Dylan Blehm collected a base on balls next.  Ian Brown followed with a walk, as well, to load the bases.  Grant Merryman then singled to left field to score Langford.  The Patriots added a single run in the third inning off of a blast from Blehm that went beyond the fence for a Home Run.  Mission added three more runs in the top of the fourth inning to lead 6-0.  Tate Wheeler singled to right field to begin the inning.  Richards doubled to left field, moving Wheeler to third.  Trey Mulholland picked up a RBI next on a fielder's choice which resulted in an error by the catcher.  Mulholland ended up at second and Richards at third base.  A Patriot out took place next, followed by a wild pitch that scored Richards and moved Mulholland to third.  That was critical for the Patriots as Sam Golden then launched a deep sacrifice fly to left that scored Mulholland.  The Eagles' bats finally came alive in the bottom of the fourth inning as they put together four hits to score a pair of runs.  Neither team scored in the fifth inning.  In the sixth, with the Patriots already up 6-2, it was Richards again starting a scoring rally, this time with a walk.  Mulholland singled to center, pushing Richards to second.  Brennan Montgomery lofted a fly ball to center that enabled Richards to move to third base with one out.  The Eagles made a pitching change next, and that might not have been the best of ideas.  Golden greeted the new pitcher with a three-run homer to left center.  Blehm followed with a walk, but the rally ended with two more outs, Mission ahead 9-2.  The Patriots just kept piling it on, as they added three additional runs in the top of the seventh inning, again on a new Eagle pitcher.  After one out was recorded by the Eagles, Kaeden Thompson pinch hit for Richards, and like his predecessor, kept the leadoff spot hot, with a single to center.  Mulholland singled through the left side to make it first and second with one out.  Both runners moved up a base on a wild pitch.  Montgomery picked up an RBI with a groundout to the right side, allowing Thompson to score and moving Mulholland to third.  This time Golden shot a deep homer over the left field fence for two more RBIs.  The Eagles went quietly in the seventh for the 12-2 final.

In the second game, the Patriots took an early 5-0 lead, then managed to hang on for an 8-5 victory and a four game sweep of WBU.  The Patriots plated five runs in the first inning.  Landon Richards led off with a single to center.  Trey Mulholland was hit by a pitch.  Brennan Montgomery followed with a single to left field that was hit sharp enough Richards had to halt at third base.  Sam Golden grounded into a fielder's choice which eliminated Montgomery on the base path, but scored Richards.  Dylan Blehm singled to right center knocking in Mulholland.  Both Blehm and Golden moved up a base, Golden scoring, on a wild pitch.  After a second Patriot out, Grant Merryman reached on an error by the shortstop that plated Blehm.  Merryman then stole second base to get into scoring position.  Carter Vienhage reached first base on another error by the shortstop, and Merryman moved over to third base.  Tate Wheeler then drove in Merryman with a single to center field.  The Eagles regrouped somewhat, scoring a pair of runs in their half of the first inning to trail 5-2.  The MU bats continued in the second inning as they added two more runs.  Mulholland started the inning with a double to left field.  After an Eagle pitching change, Montgomery singled to right field making it runners at the corners.  Golden followed and help load the bases as he took a pitch to the body.  Blehm was then hit by a pitch for an RBI.  After two Patriots were out, Carter Vienhage drew a RBI walk, 7-2 MU.  Mission scored a single run in the third inning.  The new Eagle pitcher retired the first two Patriots, but then gave up a single to center to Montgomery.  Golden followed with a double to center field that scored Montgomery, 8-2 MU.  The Eagles were able to close the gap to 8-4 when they scored two runs on five hits in the fourth inning.  The Patriot offense quieted down in the last three innings, and Williams Baptist managed to score a lone run in the bottom of the seventh, but 8-5 would be as close as they would get.
