Springfield, Missouri- The Lady Patriots fell behind 3-0 after the first three and a half innings. In the bottom of the fourth the Lady Patriots showed some life when they rallied to tie the game, 3-3.
Courtney Merrell led off with a single to center. After a Lady Patriot out,
Cole Smith walked, pushing Merrell to second base.
Sequoia Cronlund pinch ran for Smith.
Apryl Zeno loaded the base after she was hit by a pitch. A second Lady Pats out followed, then came the big blow.
Jocelyn Cunningham doubled in all three runners to tie the game. The Lady Mustangs responded in the top of the fifth inning by taking the lead back, 5-3. Central Baptist added two more runs in the top of the seventh, while the Lady Patriots were unable to respond.
Highlights-
In the second game of the doubleheader, the Lady Patriots hit the ball, but left seven runners on base as the Lady Mustangs posted a 5-0 shutout. Central Baptist scored a single run in the top of the first, top of the fourth, then added a 3 run fifth inning to prevail. The Patriots had eight hits, all singles, but could not string any of them together.
