Springfield, Missouri-  The Haskell Lady Indians scored in the bottom of the first inning to take a 1-0 lead, but that would all come crashing down on them in the top of the second.  Mission put together quite a rally as they plated 14 runs to take a lead they would not give up again.  It all began with a Maddie Good single.  Brooklyn Cline pinch ran for Good.  After one out took place by MU, Karissa Roberts laced a double that pushed B. Cline to third base.  Kate Potter reached first on a catcher's interference call to load the bases.  Ellie Mitchell singled to score B. Cline and everyone else moved up a base.  Courtney Merrell reached on an error by the first baseman, which scored Roberts.  A second MU out occurred, then Cole Smith reached on an error by the shortstop that scored Potter and Mitchell.  Apryl Zeno kept the train moving, and so did the Haskell defense, as Zeno reached on an error by the third baseman.  Merrell and Smith both scored on that error.  Good then recorded her second single of the inning that scored Zeno.  Jocelyn Cunningham followed with a double pushing Good to third base.  After a pitching change by Haskell, Roberts reached on an error by the shortstop that scored Good and moved Cunningham to third base.  Roberts then stole second base to be in scoring position for Potter's double that followed.  Mitchell drew a walk next.  Merrell singled both, Potter and Mitchell, in to score.  Kloe Hendrickson then connected for a two-run homer to make it 14-1, MU.  The Lady Indians did manage to get two of those runs back, later in the third inning, to trail 14-3.  The Lady Patriots erased those with a four-run top of the fourth inning to lead 18-3.  This time it was a two-out rally that began with Merrell singling.  Hendrickson reached on an error by the pitcher to make it first and second with two outs.  The Lady Indians booted Smith's batted ball to second base which loaded the bases.  Zeno doubled in Merrell and Hendrickson.  Good followed with a double of her own, as she knocked in Smith and Zeno.  The Lady Indians scored a single run in the bottom of the fourth, then tried to rally in the bottom of the fifth to avoid the run rule, but their rally fell short.

Highlights- In the second game, the Lady Patriots took advantage of one big inning, once again, to ride to an 11-4 victory for the two-game sweep.  Each team scored a single run in the first inning.  Courtney Merrell led off the game with a double.  After one Mission out, Cole Smith drew a base on balls.  Merrell came in to score on a ground out by Apryl Zeno.  Haskell took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the second inning on three hits.  Neither squad scored in the third or fourth inning.  In the top of the fifth inning, with the Lady Pats trailing 2-1, Maddie Hanger drew a walk, then advanced to second base on Merrell's single.  Kloe Hendrickson doubled to score Hanger and move Merrell to third base.  Smith knocked in both runners with a single.  After the Lady Pats made an out, Maddie Good then singled, which allowed Smith to continue on to third base.  Brooklyn Cline came in to run for Good.  Jocelyn Cunningham laced a single that scored Smith and pushed B. Cline to third base.  The Lady Indians made a pitching change next.  Cunningham stole second base to move into scoring position when play resumed.  A second MU out occurred next.  Tessa Cline followed, however, with a two-run single, knocking in her sister and Cunningham.  Haskell countered with two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to make it 7-4.  The Lady Patriots had an answer in the top of the sixth inning, as they added four more runs to their lead to make it 11-4.  Merrell led off the inning with a single.  Hendrickson was next with a single of her own.  The bases became full when Smith worked a walk out of the pitcher.  Zeno then got an RBI walk.  With the sacks still jammed, Good ripped a double in the gap that scored all three runners.  Both Cunningham and T. Cline also singled, but the Patriots were not able to add any more runs.  T. Cline gave up two hits in the bottom half of the inning, but the Lady Indians did not score.  The Lady Pats did not score in the seventh inning and then Haskell went quietly in the bottom of the inning giving Tessa Cline the victory.
